Artificial intelligence in the hotel industry

The technical term “artificial intelligence” (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and imitate their actions. AI is based on the principle that human intelligence can be defined, understood and then mechanically replicated. The main goals of AI are learning, reasoning, problem solving, perception and the use of language.

There are different types of AI, ranging from simple rule-based systems to complex neural networks and deep learning methods. AI is used in a variety of fields, including robotics, speech recognition, image analysis, data analysis and many other areas of computer science and beyond.

In the hotel industry, for example, AI can be used for personalised customer experiences, automated customer interactions, optimising operations management, demand forecasting and pricing, predicting market trends and other areas.
